This doesn’t surprise me at all. The whole car infotainment industry is so far behind the curve, and updating to respond to legislation just doesn’t seem to be a thing.

I suspect TB4 in the NUC could do the same job as the bus (can’t see the bandwidth listed)

I think the writer hit the nail on the head when they said they were the first one to ask for the iPod.

Audio device selection is horrible. Several of my (otherwise fully working) devices either don’t show up in the lists, or if they do, pass no audio.

It’s not an uncommon view - I trust them in terms of privacy and security much more than the alternatives.

I’m not sure any (large) ML models as such are bundled.

Not super fast, especially the smaller sized ones. My M2 MBP is slower than the 3 year old PCIE4 Sabrent rocket in my desktop.

I’m not sure I agree with any of this. Space is cheap - don’t transcode, let something like Plex deal with it for you. Git seems like an odd choice too.

If only there were other places to get news other than Facebook. Who is this trying to target, people are well aware of the fires and actively seeking info. Not being able to stumble across it on Facebook doesn’t sound like that big of a de

Think of a REPL or shell (which I guess is a REPL…). Same thing you might do in a Jupyter NB.

Was wondering the same thing - going through a tech audit at the moment for ISO and that certainly wouldn’t fly, unless we were able to prove that we effectively treated it like we owned it.

I’ve done a lot of distro hopping in the last couple of years, and I always seemed to spend a lot longer managing the environment rather than doing the work (which was an issue when I was freelancing…). Indeed Arch is the only one that ende

Yeah need more to assess this one. Perfect match? Nah. But should be at least in the same quality / style ballpark and at least matching each other.

Ugh. Agree with this. My Synology NAS was failing. Saw that as a great opportunity to set up a proxmox box on a reasonably powerful used HP SFF, run TrueNAS on it. Plenty of time to get proxmox, TrueNAS, Gitea, a docker host, … just right.

Where are you in the UK that you can get 300 but not gigabit? AIUI, you’ve either got Openreach FTTC (caps out at 80mbps), Openreach FTTH (1gbps), Virgin (1gbps) or various alt nets (usually 1gbps)

You sure on that? We have 1000/100. Both WFH using zoom etc, 4 nest cams etc recording. We very rarely break 10-15mbps up.
