I think a locked down cheap phone would be a path of significantly lower resistance.

I often wonder that when I use certain products. “How can this obviously terrible design choice not be reflected in reviews?”

There’s a crossover point though where the effort to support it is larger than the supply of newer hardware coming through. With the last x86 deaktop chips coming out in ~2006, I would bet there are very few viable use cases left. That’s 6

So happy to have found cheap European chocolate at LIDL in the UK. It’s great.

Yep - when I used to rent rack space, the space itself wasn’t the expensive part, it was the transit and power.

Define a hacker tool - is the whole computer a hacker tool because it could be used by a hacker? How do we define tools that can be used both legitimately and illegitimately. The tools used were common network diagnostics tools.

Same difference as far as a user is concerned. And BT/BLE explicitly asks for permission.

Each individual socket isn’t fused though. The entire circuit is. The fuse(breaker) is going to be significantly bigger than any of those amperages. The breaker is there to protect the wiring in the building, nothing more. It’s spec’d to th

In the US at least - in Europe and other regions, the tech is fairly progressive. In the UK we’ve had “faster payments” for eons.

It’s annoying that it’s near impossible to get a grip on that before signing up. We live somewhere which has open access GPON. Been with 3 different providers, the average ping to cloudflare, google etc with one was 7, then 5 and now 2.5ms.

It’s more than fine. We have no cell signal (so WiFi calling), 5 UniFi APs. You can walk around the place and you wouldn’t even notice a transition.

Many countries houses have brick internal and external (ours (UK) is - apart from one or two internal stud walls). How do you place a router so that it hits a 4/5 bed house with brick walls? Airtime contention is a big thing - anythin

Yeah I don’t think that’s true at all. It’s a minor nightmare as well in an enterprise setting trying to lock down their attempts to change defaults, push copilot, lock down office smart services etc.
