This WebGL demo is apparently a port of Unigine Crypt which is a mobile version of Unigine Sanctuary (running on Tegra 2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX25STzOdtM

Did you try using official Nvidia drivers [1] (as opposed to notebook creator supplied ones)? I have been using Quadros for long time (multiple generations, currently on Thinkpad with Quadro 2000M) and I never had any issue with games. Both

If you are on Windows, you can try SmoothVideo Project: http://www.svp-team.com/ It's just interpolated 60 fps from regular frame rate movies but it works pretty well (it needs decent GPU for high-def videos). I use it already for quite s

There is no "busy wait architecture" in three.js, how you handle updates is entirely up to the application layer. For example Editor refreshes the screen just when the camera or object changes: http://mrdoob.github.com/three.js/editor/ Li

It seems to use Intel HD 3000 [1] and runs WebGL surprisingly well [2][3] (actually better than Macbook Pro with the same GPU [4]). [1] http://www.chromestory.com/2012/05/samsung-chromebox-price/ [2] http://twitter.com/Tojiro/status/2076

It's quite heavy on texture bandwidth. I got very smooth 60 fps on Nvidia Quadro 2000M (should be similar to GeForce 460M) and somehow stuttering 30-35 fps on ATI Radeon 3650 Mobility.

Author here ;) You are correct - it's not depth-of-field, it's fake "tilt-shift" effect that blurs screen non-uniformly based on vertical position of pixels, independently of content. And I chose it exactly because it's much cheaper than re

And it's done, if you clear cache and reload, it should be using physically based specular term. Visual difference is quite subtle - skin feels more "silky" and ears are more shiny. No noticeable degradation of performance.

Maybe. I didn't get yet to play with specular term, current one is just vanilla Phong. There should be still some performance margin left, I tried to tune it to keep 60 fps on my notebook.

NaCl bindings to HW accelerated 3d share the same issues (like any other technology using GPU acceleration including Molehill, Silverlight or Unity). Carmack tweeted the same: "doing GL ES from NaCL is clearly just as dangerous as WebGL"

Some parts can, some not, some are better in HTML5 / WebGL, some are better in Flash / Molehill. GPU bottlenecked things should be more or less similar, CPU bottlenecked things are currently faster in Flash. Flash has more troubles integrat

I meant no offense. Fully agree with what you said - there is a lot of sampling bias because of relative rarity of PhDs (few bad apples can completely color expectations). It was quite a surprise for me when doing a summer program at major

I wonder if this may be related to Aspirin's effect on inflammation. Long term inflammation is supposed to be "bad thing". Taking low doses of Aspirin for long time may help with silent inflammations throughout the body. This should be test
