There's no reason to ever defeat the pinch-in behavior, it's what lets the user know the page is fully zoomed out. maximum-scale=1.0 causes the page to be unscalable on mobile and is almost never what you want.

Is mdn not satisfactory for that? searching 'mdn array.from' brings up a nice one-pager on that and it works for almost any web/js documentation.

Do what they say, not what they do! maximum-scale has only three valid uses: 1. extreme values, like 5.0, if a browser misdetects that zooming that far is useful when it isn't (rare) 2. pure-app websites like maps or video games that h

Maybe I have the brainworms from too much SQL but that seems pretty fine? It's an idiomatic CTE that more or less directly translates back to the problem statement. (nitpick: I'd exclude already-found rows from the union to do sho

I think it assumes that large investors aren't really passive, but intervene on behalf of their investments. If you convince someone to divest from X, then they have the luxury of remaining neutral when you propose that X be destroyed.

It's not a policy issue, just a statistical artifact. From variance alone you'd expect the US to be middle of the pack, and smaller countries to make up the extremes on any metric you can make up. Particularly if, as in the case o

That link says the opposite -- that the vice premium disappears once you factor in their unusual capital structure. Essentially, sin stocks are unusually well managed because they can't be used for empire-building by crappy executives.

Do hydrides have any advantages at all over synthetic hydrocarbons or biofuels? It seems like an effort to shoehorn hydrogen in there somewhere instead of just admitting that it has literally no place at all in the energy economy

I don't think anyone's trying to run an aluminum smelter off ethanol, if it's a reasonable transport/peaking/storage fuel EROI is irrelevant.
