I don't have the information to be able to judge how Eich's views will affect his ability to be a CEO, but it's worth remembering that the CEOs of the companies that Mozilla competes with have been actively involved in illega

> Because we have a feature that you don't have to use to use the language or libraries, Rust is dead to you? This is especially frightening as they use C++ and therefore must be using EVERY C++ feature that exists.

Regulating the sale and trade of goods is a thing that governments do, as is taxing the income and assets that an individual controls.

Is there a location in the docs that lists and describes the built-in macros in Rust? They don't appear to be findable using the stdlib search, and the Macros tutorial doesn't seem to talk about built-ins. Also, this post forced m

The same thing happened to me when I broke my iPhone a few months back. I ended up speaking to 3 or 4 different representatives explaining that I had removed the phone number from all my iDevices, but couldn't turn iMessages off from t

I think that would significantly increase the odds that my company moves from MATLAB (as one of the big arguments against is the lack of a good IDE), so yes, I would be incredibly interested in Julia support.

There are a lot of humans that live places where we regularly see negative temperatures. Where I live the temperature range is roughly -40–85ºF. Choosing the freezing point of water isn't really mystic. It lets you know whether it will

I honestly didn't realize how much time I spend on here until yesterday. It was more than a little disconcerting. I spent a lot of my time reading up on Julia, and a little time working on a website.

Coalition governments are possible in Canada , and have occurred before. In the case of the last election, the votes were split such that the Conservatives won a majority of seats. It seems though that it only may be possible at election

Something to keep in mind is that Canada doesn't have a two party system. In the election that the conservatives gained a Majority, they only got ~40% of the vote. The majority of voters voted for 'not the Conservatives', but

On the grand scale yes. For those of us in Manitoba (or presumably, the far north), there's not too much solace in that fact.

I prefer it as well. Being able to do things like throw print(<SOMETHING I'M TRYING TO DEBUG>) or into a lambda has been useful on multiple occasions.

Our company moved from CentOS to Gentoo and we were able to drop support for 2.6. We're now (mostly) 3-compatible and are rolling out our first 3.3-based production server. We've definitely been lucky, I wish the transition had be

I'm feeling optimistic about Python 3. For personal and work projects I've been writing 3-compatible code, and am hoping to have a production system using it by the end of the month. I think everyone is expecting a really long tai
