As I've grown more experienced with writing Python code, my interest in writing readable code has also grown. I would guess that most of the readability concerns come from graduating, as I started working with other people on non-dispo

As someone who stuck with Firefox through the years when Chrome was almost-certainly better, I feel your pain. Perhaps a major tech company revitalize Google's efforts by entering the browser market.

Of course that doesn't always protect you from Google's whims. Google purchased the company that made the mail client I like, Sparrow.

I have mixed feelings about karma. It's nice to have filters that bring (mostly) better comments to the top, but I think it results in more silenced voices than it does posts-for-karma's-sake. It's validating to get a few upv

I remember finding this comic very useful when I had to implement AES for a crypto class.

I like it. I have a few suggestions (full disclosure: I haven't played music since high school). It would be nice if the key and time signature could remain onscreen as the sheet scrolls. I think my preferred solution for scrolling wou

I'm liking it well enough. It's mobile interface isn't good and I haven't tried updating it yet, but it is certainly holding up adequately. While I haven't done any tinkering with it yet, I enjoy knowing that I can

It's too bad the full text isn't posted anywhere. I'd love to take a more in-depth look at the results.

I'm inclined to agree with this view. Regardless of how he died, I think there would have been a bit of idolization, but I have trouble imagining someone making this documentary had he died in a car accident.

Shaw Cable (Canadian ISP) does this. I had never thought to look for an opt-out until reading this. Thanks.

I'd like to believe that the grandparent comment is the top because of this comment. The culture surrounding HN is such that a fair number of commenters find themselves on the wrong side of government regulation, and government regulation o

Didn't Expect anywhere near that sort of reaction though I read that as reaction to the project by the public (i.e., tons of page views), not as the reaction of his employer. It's quite possible that his company was quite friendly about t

Off Topic, but I don't really understand why TechCrunch would choose to refer to iCracked as the "Uber" for iPhone repairs when the AAA analogy is significantly better.

Yes, and geeks are circus freaks, computers are people who make calculations, and manufacturing means "made by hand". Language is constantly evolving, especially as it pertains to words taken from other languages.
