A lot of fingerprinting technologies use something called Difference of Gaussian (a type of bandpass filter). However, in practice you capture interest points across multiple bands (scale space). Basically what this means is that interest

Agreed. I would also add, I don't think frontend vs backend accurately describes how skillsets are clustered anymore -- especially with JavaScript's increasing ubiquity. I would cluster skillsets into: ops, development, and desig

Transfer learning is about the best we can do right now. Using a fully trained ResNet / XCeptionNet and then tacking on your own layers after the end is within reach to hobbyists with just a single GPU on their desktop. There's

I think the author misses the point that Docker is a standard and that is where the value is. The value is the ecosystem and tooling that is possible once people standardize. Most of the article reads like "Programming language X is T

Does this mean companies need to file 50 different state returns? How can any company other than a mega-corporation be expected to handle that level of bureaucracy? Even if their are firms that pop up to handle compliance it's probab

This is my point. Why is there a double standard against business owners? As an individual everyone agrees privacy is important. As soon as that same person is a business owner, then they don't have the same rights?

Why is it everyone's business? Nevada, Wyoming, Delaware, and New Mexico are states and they all have varying degrees of privacy options for corporations by design. Only public companies should be required to be public IMO. So would yo

Privacy should be considered a right. Just because someone wants privacy doesn't make them guilty of money laundering. When there is a reasonable expectation of foul play, subpoenas are the appropriate route. A lot of damage can be do

This seems like it is approaching the problem from the wrong angle. This should be addressed at the government law level. The problem is where do you draw the line? Any technology can be used for evil. Do you next ask companies that sell

Saturn assembly programming (HP48 calculator) even had a concept of a "nibble". You had to chose which portion of the data you wanted to access. The CPU only supported working with 4 bits at a time.

A tax cut is not actually a government subsidy though. That is an oversimplification. A government subsidy is when public money is SPENT on a good or service to artificially encourage investment in it (or someone just has good lobbyists).
