Ha! That's the reason I started working on https://github.com/bcherny/json-schema-to-typescript . For the record, JSON Schemas are quite a bit more expressive than TypeScript interfaces, or even Scala Traits. I act

Are you saying 42% of profiles are empty? That would seem to indicate that OkCupid is really puffing up their MAU numbers.

I know quoting Jobs is passe, but this seems relevant: "But in the end, for something this complicated, it's really hard to design products by focus groups. A lot of times, people don't know what they want until you show it t

I had this same thought a while ago. If our universe is just the Nth universe in a chain of simulated universes, and the number_of_bits(N) < number_of_bits(N-1), then each simulation gets more and more "compressed" and approxim

It would have been interesting to hear Wolfram's take on the debate. The debate revolved around "why would future intelligent beings want to simulate lesser intelligent beings from the past?". But the broader picture is that

I'm not sure that's a trend, but a peculiarity of Redux/Baobab. Without built in immutable data structures, I think this kind of paradigm will always be harder to work with in JS than smaller, distributed, mutable models.

ha! i actually commented on this guy a few months ago. javascript is designed in such a way that i think true, clojure-like immutable data structures are not possible. we'd either need to overload comparators (===, ==) so that they com

O.o seems like a bad option in your case, since not only would you be relying on an internal API that could change at any point, but you'd be relying on the shape of its internal data staying the same too.

Bummer. The latest web trend is immutability and event streams, but javascript data structures are almost all mutable by default, and O.o is a great way to take advantage of that fact. Instead of abstracting away data changes behind events,
