Another +1 from me for Central Computers - I've bought assembled desktops as well as components there. Prices seem recent (they need to keep up with online price matching) and the service/knowledge is really good.

I'm assuming the development process for embedded auto software like this would be pretty rigorous, meaning it would be fairly difficult to sneak in code like this. I also assume that testing of emissions software like this would invol

Another good test is http://isnotspam.com/ . By sending an email from your app to check@isnotspam.com, you can get some good feedback on spam triggers.

I'm beginning to think registering a non-US domain will be a good strategy for internet businesses - either as a backup or primary business move. Also, I didn't remember wired.com comments being such a cesspool...
