I agree, so much of our tech was built out as part of the global war machine. It was easier to keep your head in the sand with "libertarian-esque" ideas (at least for me), but as those ideas came to fruition and social media expos

Using AI has all kinds of new and unusual limits. It's hard to get exactly what you want and you often get unexpected results along the way.

It is inevitable that this is the direction we're headed. It's already been happening, Google, browser plug-ins... can all read both sides of an email conversation. Your phone can (if it wants) listen to you and those around you.

If anyone is interested in Ukiyo-e prints, there's a really fun episode of Samaruai Champloo that talks about them and gives a glimpse of the role they played as a sort of pop culture during the Edo period: https://www.crunc

That's not really an AI problem, it's an analog hole problem and the very nature of communication. If you give someone your thoughts, they now have them.

The infrastructure hardware and software is a commodity. Any real moat comes from access to data. I think we've seen data close up quite a bit since people realized that you can train LLMs with it, so I don't know that OpenAI'

For second homes, mansions on the beach... totally. There are a lot of impoverished people in the area that won't be able to move though. I have no idea what will happen, but short of some sort of assisted mass-relocation, it doesn

No word on home insurance rates? It's already completely insane in the SE (and other regions of the country) and can only get worse. I don't see how it's possibly sustainable or what will be done. With the current state of in

I'd say Llama has improved at a much faster clip than anything OpenAI has released, so probably in 3 years what I said will be even more true.

Llama is good enough and I don’t have to give my data to a very sketchy organization. Happy to never use OpenAI again.
