The average Joe has no idea how computing, and tech works. None. To such a person, a smartphone is a piece of magic. Expecting them to know what is real tech, and what isn't, is not fair.

You are trying to assert the studios were good studios. Yet, you provide no proof that the board, and CxO ezecs were completely unaware of (as you claim) parent corps making back room deals. Look, many people in this thread have expressed

Have to jump in here, that last sentence really erks me. This thread was about people perceiving a new vaccine, as one not tested enough. This is vastly different from someone which has resistance to vaccination overall. I am quite concer

Yes, using the term liable was a mistake. I meant "responsible". I also should have put my last sentence in its own paragraph. I stand by this, and consider... You are a CFO of a subsidiary. You have certain legal requirements.

Your logic doesn't seem sound here. One corp owning another isn't some arbitrary thing, they control that subcorp, are liable for its action, and so forth. The inverse is true. They're one thing. The separation is only leg

Two things, but I admit not hard rules. First, some people seem to talk quite loudly into their phone. Dunno the ratio, 1 out of 20 or 40? The second is, if you are sitting beside someone, and they talk to you, your attention is of course

I wonder if this will be the final fate of Bestbuy retail. A small company, running vending machines in airports, and maybe small towns.

Yes and what this means is that Google, and others, are hiring those most willing to do anything for money. That always works out well.

That's the joke. Ignoring reality, empirical evidence, due to theory.

Whoosh? That's the joke. They are so convinced in their theories, that a real world discontinuity in them is instead, seen as impossible. EG, Why would they pick up what clearly (to them) cannot exist?

Toyota, Hyundai and Honda have all bet on H2. That's just as green, and electric as a Tesla. The tech works, refuels 10x faster than any battery based car, but so far no adoption outside of europe and asian countries. That's a ph

It is more than this, too. It is called climate change for other reasons, and that is because while the global, overall, average temperature will rise, local temps could drop, or even stay the same! Say we have a 3C temp rise, global avera

That may be true, or untrue. However, citing a stat from before anyone was born, isn't helpful in a modern context. Replying to this with "it is still true, because", now that your citation fell flat on its face, may not be t

It's what everyone figured out, always. Christ was a hippie. People has preached love, casting off money and such since the dawn of time. Usually youth, who then in their 30s decide they'd rather like money.

If one is in a commune, all work is unpaid, so how is this relatable? If referencing modern society in the west, who is fetching wood and water?! Is this stat from 1870?

I think the lawsuit might come, if the local government switched to facebook in lieu of all other options. Right now, at least where I am, they have to provide freely accessible info ... even if I have to drive to the town hall to get it.

My thought on this is, if you cannot update the device yourself, manufacturers should be mandated to support the device for 4 or 5 years past last point of sale. If they unlock it, and release full sources so you can access all the hardware
