I forgot about 6NF which I consider non-canonical fan-fiction. As far as I understand it is only useful in the context of data-warehouses. But the other normal forms reduce redundancy which is what makes inconsistencies possible.

But you are talking about 1:0..1 which is different from plain 1:1 relationships.

If multiple columns can only be null/non-null together it indicates a dependency which should be normalized.

This article uses “normalize” to mean “splitting into multiple tables”. But splitting into multiple tables is only normalization in the cases were it reduces data redundancy. If the resulting two tables are 1:1 and you dont save any data, t

I was just following the “what can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence”-principle. There is just no evidence that Ellis Island officials made up names, and this is a very througly studied area of US history.

Don’t take it on my authority. Read any historical source about what happened at Ellis Island, eg. https://www.familysearch.org/en/blog/ellis-island-facts-and-... Even wikipedia has it under the “Name-change myth”

The officials at Ellis island did not ask for names and then write them down, they used written manifests from the ships.

Why? Cant you just use Elm if you prefer that? Typescript is specifically constrained by being a superset of JavaScript, Elm does not have that limitation.

The only historical evidenence for the ressurection of Jesus is second-hand testimony about people who allegedly saw him. And even in this testimony it is emphasised the witnesses did not recognize the person as Jesus. So outside of the que
