I find it a shame that routers don’t have this information in their UIs already. They should be able to show all the IPs visited by each device on the network

Really interesting point you make about Claude. I’ve experienced the same. What is interesting is that sometimes I’ll question it and say “would it not be better to do it this way” and all of a sudden Claude u-turns and says “yes great idea

I was thinking about this the other day but I highly doubt they would rebrand name. They’re borderline a household name now - at least ChatGPT is. OpenAI is the face of AI - at least to people who don’t follow the industry

Would love to test this out. It’s a problem I’ve thought about way too long so I’m glad someone is solving it. Please do send on a link when it’s ready for testing

Thanks for the reply. Yeh I’m sure something like this exists. I could probably just mask out the area around the space o lab the streets outside our house and then send a notification when it becomes available. The complexity maybe comes i

This is great. So I’ve thought of doing something slightly similar but with a raspberry Pi and camera to identify if there is a free parking space right outside our house (we live in a terraced house with no driveway)

This is great. If I was a developer I would have two projects in mind for this; 1. Decline cookie notices automatically with a browser extension 2. Build a powerful autocorrect/complete browser extension to fix my poor typing skills

This is so cool thanks for sharing. I can imagine it’s not technically possible (yet?) but it would be cool if this could simply be run as a browser extension rather than running a docker container

I honestly don’t understand how Loom sold for so much. It was just screen recording. What was different about it?

If there is evidence my guess is that it’s likely due to the previous generation’s attitude towards work. My guess is that the previous generation (like my parents and their parents before them) lived to work, it was their whole identity, t

I honestly think a fantastic use case for a tiny model is better spell checking on a phone. I can’t believe it’s 2025 and spell checkers are still quite dumb

DNS solutions like PiHole don’t work for YT ads because those ads are served from the same domain as YT.

I’m not a developer but someone who is curious about development, can you explain what it means to have a good “mental model of the code”. Does that mean where you understand all code and what it does?

A 75% take rate is absolutely disgusting. There’s needs to be more regulation in place for these types of practices. Another case is Apple that take 30% of all revenue from an app developer including in app purchases. It’s awful

No you’re not being disagreeable and this is why I love HN - the intelligent discourse! The way I think about it - and I’m probably wrong about this - is that like there way there are good fats and bad fats. There is good content online and

Sorry to be pedantic but WORD + ‘s = WORD + is, is not always true. If the word is a singular noun you can add an ‘s to form the possessive form of a singular noun; Jane’s books

I’m quite a homelab novice and I’m always tinkering so I have the same problem as you. So I spent time creating a robust backup solution. Every week I backup all the docker volumes for each container to an external NAS drive. Then I also ru
