Here's a recent HN discussion of a study that found benzene in 27% of tested sunscreen samples: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27292387

date-fns actually barely uses Intl. Rather, it has custom locale files that must be imported to use: https://date-fns.org/v2.22.1/docs/I18n . There is a single intlFormat function: https://date-fns.org

I don't know if this is true or not, but it seems doubtful since it didn't come to consoles for over a year after release. According to Wikipedia: > It was released for Microsoft Windows and OS X in May 2012, the PlayStation 3

This is great! I love the aesthetics and I've been waiting years for someone to provide a viable alternative to Goodreads.

The issue isn't the lobbying per se, but rather that it's not hard to look at the situation and conclude that Congress is favoring the interests of TurboTax over the interests of their constituents. It's difficult for me to b

This seems like such a weird pricing model. My single highest-priority requirement for a password manager is access from both computers and my phone.

You are misplacing the disruption on the nuclear family, when it is actually saying to disrupt the requirement on nuclear families. This refers to ways our society benefits 2-parent households and makes things harder for single parents.

The two if statements given aren't logically equivalent; an equivalent version of the 2nd one would be: if (!(input.command === "foo" && isValid(input))) { ... } Which IMHO is the least comprehensible. Yo

It's less about rural votes and more about population. Electoral votes per state are based on population not population density, but with an additional 2 each. That tips the scale in favor of states with smaller populations. E.g. Rho

Republicans have been voicing their views on the election since November, and countless refutations have been made for many if not all of their claims. I'm not arguing for suppression, but it's clear that many people are not inte

Not to discount your experience, but IMHO this is a pretty niche opinion. Most of my friends and family seem to be either oblivious to any issues with Facebook, or at most be concerned about X or Y but unwilling to part with their network.

It's just a second order effect. Apple booted Parler to preemptively avoid the risk of consumers abandoning their platform. Apple's walled garden and strict enforcement of their App Store policies are regularly championed in other

In reality, 35 states had voter identification laws in place in the 2020 elections[1], including Georgia which has a strict photo ID law. So apparently it's not 100% effective at silencing complaints about voting fraud. [1] https:

Seems like #2 would have the opposite effect by prioritizing the author's political leanings rather than the issues. Facts aren't actually Democratic or Republican, and there's not a single consensus opinion for each party.

IANAL, but if you remove Section 230 protection from algorithmically-curated content, Facebook would have to switch entirely to manually curating everything to avoid accidentally including libelous user-submitted content they could be sued
