I run emacs -nw --daemon, but on OS X it's noticeably slower (running in iTerm, tmux) than it is on Linux. It's not what I would call snappy at all tbh. I've checked it's not my config. I wonder how come?

You were right, @types/react was resolved to both versions 15 and 16! God I'd totally buy you a beer. But why does this happen? The very first time for me a package manage installs two major versions for a package … Thanks A TON!

I'm currently trying to revive a 2yrs old codebase written with TypeScript/React/Redux. I made the capital error of not checking in node_modules apparently or pinning versions (ie using yarn or npm shrinkwrap), as I now get t

I load my major config files (fish, tmux, emacs) in a CI alpine container[0] and check that they're not broken when i commit them. If you're on OS X then `brew bundle dump` and `brew bundle install` will also help[1] [0] circleci

>because of defining views-as-code rather then a flavor of JSX/Angular Templates JSX is just syntactic sugar, it's not a templating language. You could write yourself a JSX syntax extension for Dart, it'd be the same thing

Didn't downvote, still >30 seconds for getting a video playing isn't super convincing. That's far too slow for everyday use, at least for me

Very much this. I would not bother with C if there wasn't this huge pile of fundamental software written in it.

Your argument is that IPFS would be a better product had they hired those distinguished ex-FAANG engineers instead of obscure developers? The article outlines mostly UX and product decision problems. It doesn't seem to me that their en

Of course there's a difference, but it's irrelevant here, because no matter how long breaking changes have been announced, they break existing code. I prefer a versioning scheme that signals this.

Both are changes that will break existing code. SemVer clearly signals this. Why bother with how long something has been deprecated?

Challenge with Confluence for me in particular is that it overrides common keybindings, e.g. C-b in a textfield inserts a pair of asterisks instead of moving the caret backwards one character.
