I absolutely agree and this is a problem that a lot of open source projects face (Haraka is not alone in this). In part it comes down to the fact that most open source isn't worked on full-time, and so documentation often takes a back

I have definitely had this issue with Haraka (a highly scalable SMTP server). On the one hand we have Craigslist as a user, who have been incredibly open and contributed heavily to the project, and on the other we have had people post crypt

I think it's great :) On a serious note - you'll find the Haraka developers more friendly and active than any other MTA out there. Just join the #haraka IRC channel on freenode and we're happy to help anyone.

There's still some issues with HTTPS which need further roll-out to completely solve this problem (i.e. not everywhere supports SNI yet), but yes, for a lot of web sites this would work perfectly fine, and indeed is how many PaaS provi

Absolute rubbish. The node Postgres driver is excellent and has performed flawlessly for us.

See my post here about Haraka. Basic summary is: compared to Postfix (written in C) people are seeing significant performance gains.

I wondered this too, so I went out and implemented a large project in Node (Haraka - an SMTP Server). It turned out to be such a success that Craigslist dumped Postfix for it (an SMTP server written in C), and managed to get rid of more tha

That philosophy works fine with merchants who hope for repeat sales from the same customer. But what about subscription payments (what I use Stripe for). A remember me button doesn't make sense there, as they are never re-entering the

Their filtering really isn't that smart. It's just so much better than what people were used to with hotmail or yahoo mail. But it's no better than other well setup systems, and in some ways it is worse.

Before CPanel supported wordpress the installation was just as complex for WP as it is now for Ghost. You had to know how to install PHP and Apache and MySQL. All that changes over time as things get more popular.

There are some settings worth tweaking in postgres' config to improve the query planner. The one that made the biggest difference to us was "cpu_tuple_cost". Setting it to 0.2 (the default is 0.01) made it choose more optimal

For what it's worth, I wrote the code that did this in SpamAssassin just slightly before Pg published "A plan for spam". Although he had some very useful improvements to the algorithm which I rolled in.

The flip side to that argument is that right now life is short, and so I try and fit as many wonderful experiences into it as I can. If life were long I could put everything off until tomorrow. And that doesn't sound good to me.

It requires node v0.11.3 or above and the --harmony-generators flag at launch. Or use gnode, which will down-compile it to ES5 for current stable node.

Are you sure you just weren't waiting long enough for them to load? Phantom's onLoadFinished only takes into account the main frame, not any iFrame or AJAX resources. For that you need some sort of DOM based waitFor().

You really should use a local caching resolver, even if you set your upstream to google's resolvers. Just install pdns-recursor and you're good to go.

People say this all the time but it's not true. There are a bunch of things in JS that just don't work (are compile errors) in CS. Like conditional expressions.

That's a naive view of both DBAs and sysadmins these days. They both do much more than just keep things running. Sysadmin has mostly turned into opsdev. Same with DBA.
