Monstly agree - but dividends that go to every owner aren't unfair per se, a cap on dividends would be very good, though. As for options, depending on the company they can be a hiring incentive, and not being able to grant any may rest

I do, for the sole reason that at the end of (almost) every private equity deal is an exit, and in order for the company to be sold at a higher price than it was bought, it still has to be good/better at what it is supposed to be doing

I don't see why not? The prizes are handed out by the Nobel foundation, which is independent of government, and as far as I know, financially self-sustaining, so there are no sponsors to upset, and no government that has oversight.

Im guessing since the art would be on the company's balance sheet as an asset, a sale of the company would include the sale/ transfer if its assets, thus breaching the law saying the birds cannot be sold.

Well at least on the consumer side, my perception has always been that their brand revolves around solidly built products that last long. We have a bunch of power tools that must be like 20 years old and still work like new.

I like the idea, but why would I use this instead of Mendeley or EndNote, for example? Especially since Mendeley is free, and has a word plugin for writing and referencing.

I mean... The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive. If Bill Gates gives away 49% of the money his investments make a year (hypothetically), he makes money, and he gives money away. If he funds the Series A of a biotech company to help
