You might want to check out Simple Analytics as well. From a privacy perspective this is actually a good shout. We classified it as follows: Matomo looks more like Google and the data is yours. Plausible and Simple Analytics are more simila

It's compliant if you show a cookie banner on your website. It not really privacy-friendly as you are still setting cookies on your users devices. There is one point from the Google announcement that I fully agree with and that is that

There are some interesting points here. It's really about the exchange of data to US servers that seems to be the problem, as Google is obliged by law to disclose data if asked for by the U.S. Intelligence service. Do you believe they
