Hmm, the code translates to Objective-c almost one-to-one. I don't think it shows the potential of RubyMotion. The thing is, when you create a table view in iOS apps, most of the work is for design and interaction like swiping to show a set

I think battery life is a big factor. (I don't personally own an Air, so I am assuming that Airs don't actually achieve specified battery life: 5~7 hours.)

Oops, forgot about the other character sets. But, I think properly designed fonts require a lot more than what you mentioned. According to this article, for Windows, it requires 11,172. (Second paragraph in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kor

I am not familiar with many languages, but something that is unique about Korean "alphabets" is that alphabets combine to form a character. This makes sentences more compact in appearance, but it also creates difficulty in creating fonts, s

I learned to use Dvorak using this site: http://learn.dvorak.nl/ . Caveat: It took me about (painful) two months to be able to type normally, but I switched back to Qwerty because I couldn't use any other computer without looking like a co

Existing papers do not really force new papers to be typeset in LaTex, since end products are just PDFs. I don't know of any alternative solution that is as easy to use and produces a high quality document.

This is my side project. I do not live in San Francisco, so I would appreciate any feedback to make this app better. (My original app was for TTC in Toronto, but Muni happens to share the same API.)

I use XCode for iOS development and Vim for everything else. Tried to use Vim for iOS development as well, but XCode has incomparable integration of code completion, compiler, etc. (Even though it is slow and buggy.) I am open to using othe

No, some minor parts are done with webview, but most of it isn't, at least not for the iPhone. There is a huge library called Three20 that was created while the app was developed (as far as I know).

Hmm. I do understand what you are saying, but in most cases where you are outputting HTML, how is this really different from using templates? I see templates as a way to reduce redundant code. The examples on the blog post are simple (e.g.

I don't think any mathematician will assert that math is a practical subject or the universal solution. In math, we just define n-dimensional Euclidean space, but no implication is made about the physical world.

I agree, but it is good to notice that many people are simply afraid (and not aware) of alternative solutions. If you can afford to, informing them won't hurt.

In Canada, international students are given work permit up to 3 years after graduation and after 1 year of full-time employment they can apply for permanent residency. I think the US could benefit from a similar policy.

I don't think that analogy really works because there is not much distinction between "Apple developers" and other developers. There is no barrier to start developing on Apple platforms and there probably won't be for the next big platform.
