So what language do you build with it? And why was it better than the traditional build system of that language?

Nice work. I personally use Arq, which supports SFTP. And like you, I backup to a remote server over which I have no control. Arq is really desktop software, however.

My workflow is somewhat simpler now. So I make do with Xcode.

I don't use it anymore, but I remember using Meld about fifteen years ago. This project has been running for a long time.

I thought OP meant surveillance by Appple, thanks for clarifying. Yes, that could be a problem.

In what sense does this have to do with surveillance?

I'm curious, why is that? Is the API not maintained?

The news must be viewed in light of the lack of development on the rest of X. In that light, it's definitely noteworthy. [1] https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=XServer-...

I also worked at a company that gave me one option: Windows. So I took it, and installed Linux on it. First in a VM and later, I just blew the resident OS away.

Personally, I use the narrow version of the Anka Coder font. I'm having trouble reading very small fonts, but this narrow font makes up for it. https://fontlibrary.org/th/font/anka-coder-narrow#Anka/

I really like Swift syntax. Declarations basically are the same in Dart's. But I couldn't find a Dart equivalence for the following bit of Swift: if let sample = cachedSample, searchResult.isRecent { sampleViewModel.

Why do you say it's a joke? Is it because of your experience with it, did you compare features, etc., what is the reason?

What's your experience with Vapor? Suppose I've got a Linux box with a MySQL database, setup with a couple of tables. Maybe like a messageboard with Users, Posts and Comments. How many days would it take to implement a REST API fo

That is true in many situations, like a remote server. That's why we have top on the commandline, or iStat Menus. But I'm not sure if iStat Menus actually works on the new machines. https://bjango.com/mac/ista

Personally, I fixed this by getting an unlimited mobile data subscription, which was only €20/month here in The Netherlands. But I understand that most people can't get that. What does seem weird to me, is that they didn't im

Unpopular opinion follows. Apparently Patrick Wardle describes a security hole, which uses the NetworkExtension framework to make it as if his code is Apple code, and thus ignores the firewall rules. My guess is, that it'll get patched

It's been like that for ages, isn't that typical macOS behavior? Note that I hate that behavior as well :) I fixed it first with a hotkey and a little Lua hacking within Hammerspoon. Now I just use Amethyst.
