It's not that common for tools that have been around for decades, and don't have system dependencies (like your network configuration examples do) to change. egrep and fgrep are used on ad hoc command lines daily, and option alter

Or the counteroffer is to retain the person until the completion of an immediate project. It could be that the short-term loss of an individual exceeds the extra cost of a raise, but the long-term cost exceeds the benefits. More likely, it&

Thing is, companies aren't just a web of contracted individuals. Companies gain efficiencies from reduced transaction costs; this is the basic theory of the firm, the reason we have firms at all. One of the big ways transaction costs a

Here in Switzerland, you are likely to pay through the nose for a mediocre product / service. Caveat emptor, particularly since consumer laws are weak.

If it takes 8 years to move 10%, does that mean it takes 16 years to move 20%? Would it take 80 years to move 100%? Doesn't really make sense, does it, given that it didn't take 80 years to ramp up originally. Apple couldn't

7ms isn't going to be the bar. Human reaction times are in the 150+ms range, you have 20x your budget. I agree it's still tough though, most I/O paths on generic hardware will have buffers at every step that you'll have

I would worry a little about going above 90% space usage. ZFS slows down fairly dramatically when it starts running out of contiguous space and there is no defragmentation tool. On the other hand it's not that hard to export and re-imp

For now, we use prompts to explore latent space. I don't know that we'll always use prompts. They're better than trying to carefully twiddle hundreds of dimensions manually, but I can't help but think there's a bett

I think your ontology encompasses too much to be useful in classifying games. All single player games without a random element can be modeled as graph search problems with varying degrees of cycles permitted.

Mashups is the wrong way to think about it. It's generalizing at a higher level than texture / image sampling and it can tween things in latent space to get to visual spaces that haven't been explored by human artists before.

Where the 1080 would do about 2 it/sec, the 3090 does about 10 it/sec. When I do batches, it slows down but not linearly; if 1x does 10 it/sec, 2x does about 6 it/sec. Batching is the other upside of more VRAM.

It's more tedious in C derivatives, where loops and switches share the break keyword. Where that isn't the case, it's much harder to justify multi-level break. Refactor to a function and return instead.
