I’m betting the results will be skewed by being posted here and being on the front page. HN can produce a lot of traffic, but doesn’t represent a good sample of the population.

It should just be like on Mac—you can go through the App Store, or you can download directly, but with a warning. I think that would be killer argument for Epic—Apple already allows you to download apps onto their devices that don’t go thro

People sure do love lotteries and gambling. What else could this be used for? Getting people to vote? Setting up a 401K? Buying health insurance?

I think it's possible to go native -> RN -> native without the whole being a failure. You may have a product that hasn't gained the traction that it should have because you have to build everything twice and just don't

What I think is lost in the conversation here is that people don’t really have organizations they can go to to advocate their political positions. People have their families, their jobs, and maybe a couple of friends and that’s about it. Th

The proposed changes are wholly reasonable, and definitely not that different from 99% of the companies out there. The real problem is that they’ve spent years hiring for a type of person where this sort of thing is anathema.

Yeah, let’s say your salary was $200k. They give you $100k immediately, you turn around and find another job after a month off at $190k—that means you’re making about $273k this year.

It’s not just NIMBY-ism, and NIMBY-ism isn’t what drove these away. What it is is pretty much the minimum mage—housing has to meet a minimum threshold in quality or else it can’t exist. Never mind that people might still be willing to live

Easy solution: tax carbon emissions. Who cares if you’re using energy to mine Bitcoin? Or if you’re using it to play video games? Or to run the AC all day? If it you’re internalizing the cost of any emissions, then you’ll use those resource
