Taxpayers give too. They just don't get much/any credit for it. When the government's taking over 50c of every euro you earn, you are giving plenty.

Nobody remembers urls any more (if they ever did). If I type the word nissan into the address bar on IE, firefox, chrome or opera I get a page full of links to the motor company.

Really? You think they know what happened in the Americas post 1492? And suppose that the people of that island began showing signs that they wished to make contact. What then?

But what if they have a brutal dictator there? Or slavery? Or sexual abuse (like on pitcairn island)? On balance though, I think all countries should leave one another alone. Foreign intervention frequently seems to do more harm than good.

Well done with the repair. When our then 10ish yr old washing machine broke, the repairman charged about 40 to 50% of the cost of a new one, which in fairness wasn't exorbitant taking his time and overheads into account. But it was cle

It's a consequence of, first, having assembly lines and later assembly lines 'staffed' by robots. Once upon a time manufactured goods were expensive and labour was cheap. Now it's the other way around. So it's cheap

There's a perception amongst the 'ordinary' people that those at the top scratch one anothers backs. The government spin is that we're all in this together but the reality seems to be different. It's not surprising when you see how politici

I fail to see how my post was revisionistic. Your own statistics suggest that there was about 1 fatality for every 4 attacks. And that was over a 20 year period. That was the only point I was making and it was in response to another poster'
