That's what I think is scary about the deal. Without a clear date. It's just vapor. And it they don't bring a solid device to the market fairly quickly, it would be a bad deal for both NOK and MSFT.

WTG NFLX! More power to you. You allowed to me stay free of Cable for last one year. Love you. Hastings made the right bet by focusing on the streaming. That's clearly the future and I'm glad they are planning to go ahead with streaming del

The fact that Groupon has to engage in such tactictss goes to show that they are hitting the limits. IMO they were idiots not to take the GOOG offer. It was a huge one and I doubt they will ever reach that valuation again. Discounts like gr

These browser wars are funny. They have been going on for so many years but neither is there a cler winner nor an idea of what the prize would be like. Does winning this war really matter any more? I am not sure why GOOG and MSFT are really

Well in that case wouldn't bing's percentage of failed searches be even larger than Google's? The stats don't reflect that

Here's the gist of Matt's reply: 1. Hitwise's definition of a successful search doesn't actually involve clicking on result. 2. MSN has pages that generate bing search while masquerading as regular pages.

Well if they are "going" to Google for hard queries then wouldn't they try the queries on Bing first? Or are you saying that people spend time deciding a query is simple or hard and then choose appropriate search engine for that?

Really glad to see you reply here Matt. Never expected it. Kudos! I think Microsoft did acknowledge using clickstream data as one of the 1000 signals for their relevance ranking. Now regarding the degree to which they are used, I don't have

It's a pain to use on Windows. I had a pretty beefy machine that was brought to a crawl by the emulator. I hope Google is listening. Visual studio for Windows Phone 7 was not such a hog and I tend to spend more time working in it these days

Well for 10 years I think the search results have only marginally gotten better. Besides, 10 years ago, what google was doing was revolutionary. No other search engine had such vast coverage or better intent determination. Now the competiti

That's why sometimes I think sites that do manual culling like Quora are greatly valuable. Sure when they have sizeable information, peole will try to spam it too but that spam will soon get cleaned up. Just like wikipedia.
