Most religions teach the golden rule. Treat others as you want to be treated. And if I was poor I'd want someone to feed me.

This is a little concerning to me. I see religion and the state as opposing forces for change. I wish we had more diversity in how atheists could organize outside of religion.

This is a misnomer. I looked in the education section and the 4th item down was a educational charity sponsored by a religion. https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summar... That 31% is donations to church

I have thought about this a bit. It would be awesome if there was a camera next to the recycling bin that could recognize the container and give advice on what to do with the material and any rules on it. Such as cardboard can be recycled

People are very dynamic, we either grow together or apart. My current success at marriage is due to a concerted effort not only to find out what interests my wife but to take an active role in it even if I don't wholesale agree. Then

Every single success I have right now is due to my wife's support. She is my partner in everything. When I worked at a startup, she suffered. When I am successful in something it's because she's there sacrificing with me.

What predictions? If you believe in scientific modeling at ALL. AKA you think global climate change is scientifically sound, then you should probably look at the population growth predictions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

There is a whole campaign around this. I've read through some of their stuff but if you're digging and see some red flags please bring it back here because I'd love to know. https://nonotoriety.com/

I disagree, I think that: People want to go about their day and not be hit and have to reject people face to face. It's a difficult interaction human interaction to have. People DO want to go about their day and be hit on by the right

I have this same problem. The best thing I can do is attempt to use my natural inclination to help people like OP. To that end, I'll usually say things like. "I think this is what "president" was saying, am I right?&quo

I find simply stating, "Excuse me but I wasn't finished." Is typically enough to get the point across. You can be polite and not allow people to railroad you.

I've been this guy. When volunteering in Haiti, I was just... mad at the world. I hated everyone who didn't want to move to Haiti and help. Then I started reading about Paul Farmer, who has arguably done more than I ever will but

This is a complex computation to come up with. Ideally we could set up a mining operation that didn't require additional fuel from earth. That would be costly in CO2 if we used that as a measure. However, after being set up all that w
