I'm not sure what you mean, drug possession is still criminalized? Has been for years, and drug use still happens, it just creates conditions which increase crime and unsafe use. Unless, do you mean that the laws aren't enforced e

Thanks for saying this, and I agree with you - lots of people making uninformed statements as fact. Drug Addiction is terrible, but stigmatizing drugs, labelling the user as a "druggie" or "junkie", and calling for tough

If anyone wants to read a really good book that puts the War On Drugs and addiction in perspective, I highly recommend Chasing The Scream by Johann Hari. Very well written, well-referenced and involves interviews with all sorts of people -

The fact that it's criminalized causes those sorts of marginalized camps and cartels to form in the first place. Even if they were cleared out, they would simply move elsewhere.

I agree with that. I still use Facebook and Youtube, but I disable the News Feed and YouTube recommendations/home page using browser plugins.

This is a good video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-I6XTVZXww Although it relies on a particular interpretation of the left side of the equation, it's used in some areas of physics.

I find myself a little bit happy that it's down. I use Facebook quite often, but mostly because everyone else I know uses it. If everyone is forced to find an alternative, that'd be fine by me.

I agree as well. Those two use-cases for using Facebook don't seem to apply to me. Here's what I use it for: - Local community groups - I have a few groups localised for my suburb and surrounds, specifically "good karma"

I once found a Casio F-91W at an opshop but then lost it at a festival. Didn't realise it had such a following online. I then bought a DW-5600E on special, it's great. Hoping to hold onto it for a bit longer!

I remember in the dial-up days finding a website with a live feed of a train set in some faraway part of the way. You could choose a train to make a circuit of the track by clicking a button. The delay was something like 10 seconds but it w

I'm pretty sure Jitsi allows for screen-sharing a particular application so I'm curious to know how that works. Might check the source later.

Are you suggesting we somehow make our existing gasoline-powered cars electric? I'm not very up-to-date so I didn't think that was possible. Unless you just mean replacing them with electric ones?
