huh. Thats such a weird place to go. It was only the automatic weapons, Im pretty sure any suicidal men could probably still hit themselves in the head with a single shot from a distance of 0.2 feet...

Thats overstating it a little. or even a lot. Nobody has been in those places for more than a month, its 2 weeks. The 'escapees' so far have been an alcoholic (went to the nearest bottle store) and a couple of people with mental

Trump should definitely not ever, ever, EVER have endorsed a drug that was not thoroughly tested for the purpose he was recommending it. that was insane. Everything that followed makes sense...of course the entire scientific and medical w

NZ shutdown for six weeks (depending on how you count of course) and is reopening now, we have had no new cases at all for 12 days. Effective leadership early on is effective.

Everyone wants to get on with their lives, but at what cost? thats what it comes down to. We will either pay in economic damage, lost lives or (looking likely) both. Again, I dont understand the rush to throw so many lives under the bus w

On a different note, I will say it is massively interesting to me that someone who claims to be anti-authoritarian is recommending everyone in society return to work in an orderly fashion to save the economy. Which side do of that argument

yeah, we got lucky with our leadership and with our island status. ", where there were hundreds of thousands of infections" well, EVENTUALLY, there were hundreds of thousands of infections. at one point there were, famously, 15..

We're in NZ, its feeling likely at the moment that the date will be wednesday. OTOH we have been incredibly lucky with both our leadership and our island status. the US is a huge state, with porous borders so the right choice might be

Its not about me. The benefit comes when the community as a whole does it, there is literally no point to anyone doing it alone, unless they are vulnerable. "What do we do next?" Figure out the best way to treat covid, and talk ab

Sure, we cant shutdown forever, but I dont understand the rush to sacrifice. Covid will be with us forever now, and in just a few months we already understand a lot more about it than we did at the start. The longer we can delay mass infect

Im not sure you have thought through the consequences of citizens owning military grade arms. It (arguably) removes the government as a threat, but replaces the threat with other citizens. It seems to me that history teaches that in the abs

That is objectively wrong though, isn't it? The government absolutely can, and does, pass laws to legally take anyone's stuff for any reason it likes. If that is your bottom line, then almost every government in almost every count

it really does provide a very nice and effective standard way to bundle components needed by an app altogether and to manage them appropriately. The developers in this case didn't bother trying to use it.

that is explicitly incorrect. macos has a very nice and effective way of packaging all the components needed by an app into tidy bundles. the problem in this case is that the developers just couldn't be assed even trying.
