Giving things away definitely is a win. Good Will seems to be a quick solution for this - is it a good place to give things away? Hope the things find a second life.

The disposable masks were such a shame. We ingested and breathed in the plastic. Then once discarded, it is just plastic pollution.

I did not mean all good employees want remote work. Why would I say that… I just meant relatively, compared to big companies; smaller companies will make more exceptions to retain folks. And smaller companies realize and value the pros of r

What are the concerns about the “plastic” carpets in American homes? They are pretty much everywhere. They shed fibers all the time. We’re in contact with it all the time.

Burning seems to be the only good idea over long-term. But someone on HN explained that there are some toxic byproducts to burning plastic. Dioxins for one. So we need some way to capture those waste and store it along with the nuclear wast

But can the big big companies afford to lose a few good employees to apply a hybrid/in-office culture? For whatever are the trade offs. Their bulk of hiring will be younger folks. Those people generally move closer to work and show up

Fitness and gaming wasn't demoed much yesterday, but are going to be insane on the Vision Pro - so I guess it was just too obvious to demo. Or is it? Also Meta could catch up if it was just software. But how big of a deal is the M2+R1?

right.. so maybe Apple just thinks it is not good enough yet. They must be stretched on onboard compute capacity already. And some might argue you just switch apps to find that "screen". Personally I would put something interestin

why do you guys say this? Amazon's "View in your room" feature does a decent job of placing a furniture in AR. We can even walk around/towards it. And that tech is just Apple ARKit right?

In the demo, I was hoping to see some app/screen/display anchored to certain walls or being fixed in a 3D spot. That way I can walk to a place to see that "screen".

why so? Hope it is real sustainable performance in SEA. My fear is that it will be easier to run the "venture backed grow at all costs" model in Asia. This sucks the oxygen out of the ecosystem, very anti-competitive, short-sighte

Except for reading thru some shared Reddit posts or Google search results, I find Reddit very unintuitive. Maybe Reddit never put in many dopamine triggers like other social media (but Twitter is more than dopamine hooks). And maybe they di

Gaming could be much be better on a VR/AR device, and a reason to put on a "ugly sweat box" initially. Apple did not go deep into that, only a brief segment about the Unity collab. Maybe gaming is not their forte right now. A

I hate plastics. But I hate things that say “made from x% recycled plastic” more and avoid those - just to vote with my wallet that it is not an acceptable solution.

This has to just be a side-effect of the revolving-door grace of government subsidies - Currently/lately, short-haul airlines are being subsidized. Even though those subsidies are costly and least effective.

This will never get attention it deserves. Plastic is everywhere. It cannot be avoided. It is very toxic. People have become numb to the facts. The plastic problem is too big and complex now to tackle.

It is almost certain that shorter air routes were subsidized by government. No way it was economical. I read somewhere that many smaller airlines have gone bust.

Trains can be a lot more comfortable also, like seat space. Just curious. Is there a TSA (long messy security checks at airports) equivalent for trains in France? No reason to downvote your comment btw.
