It seems obvious to me that there are good reasons we should want more women in tech. I just don't think we should expect things to be so different once that is the case, we'll still have (most of) the same shitty problems. It

I like that this person talks about connecting people and people having their lives touched by Nokia. Nowadays we are very distrusting and dismissive of such talk. There is a good reason why of course, but still there is something reductive

I have had that happen once or twice. But also I've encountered a lot of people who "aren't drug dealers", who only sell weed to their friends, basically so that they can smoke for free. This type takes the "not a d

See, I've always wanted someone like this, but never found it. I've always found people that sell one thing only (cannabis), or maybe a couple, but not the "drug supermarket". I mean, it makes sense as the article points

Note that you'll find nothing of the sort in the Angular docs. I believe this is at least part of what the author is really railing against. If the docs were crystal clear as to how Angular actually works, doing stuff in Angular would

This wouldn't get anyone very far in my case, I really don't know that many developers outside of work. I don't like them, usually. They have bad senses of humor and annoying personality traits.

I find them irritating for the same reason. It reminds me of the jQuery cycle: use jQuery for everything -> decide that depending on frameworks is lame -> use "vanilla JS" for everything -> realize this requires polyfills

Same here. The main factors were that brewing with the Aeropress is fussy (all the stirring and timing and inverting), but more importantly, it doesn't make very much coffee (I like to drink somewhere between 12-16 oz). French press ma

Yes, agreed. If you have unlimited vacation it shouldn't really make sense to talk about someone "abusing" the policy. You might say that someone takes so much vacation that they don't actually contribute any value to th

I work for a company that offers unlimited vacation, and I am skeptical of the skepticism around this. To me it feels like some kind of backdoor justification for the standard, shitty two weeks most American firms offer. While I certainly a

Seeing this cycle is tiring. People became obsessed with to-do apps (still not sure why, I guess as a demo for trying different styles of app development), then they all tried to be the most polished to-do app, now comes the to-do backlash

The best way to employ the things you learn and discover when reading and thinking about code, is to write code. All the reading and thinking is no good without the part where you write code.
