We are working hard on making RoboVM as mature as possible. There's already plenty of applications on the App Store using RoboVM. Happy to talk if you need more info for decision making. Ping us at hello@robovm.com.

ART is still heavily bound by many JVMisms. All of the framework code is Java as well, so whatever you intend to use with ART has to have some understanding of the Java world as well.

We use it for both REST APIs on top our services and rendering templated HTML. We had to bastardize the asset bundle extension considerably for that though. Once we got things working we didn't want to go back.

I'm glad someone took the time to write this, it's actually a very nice resource to get new coworkers up to speed. Shouldn't be tought as dogma of course (e.g. Gradle vs. Maven). Also, thanks for mentioning Packr even though

packr author here. I don't distribute any JRE. Doing so for the original Sun/Oracle JRE is indeed a problem. Doing so for OpenJDK is not.

Hi, author of packr here. Totally agree with your points, it's one of the reasons i'm drawn to JVM land. However, for end-user apps like games people want to pretend their app is native. Distribution on Steam is also easier this w

Niklas, the author or RoboVM, just send his first submission to the App Store, we'll see how that pans out. In the meantime, lots of folks from the libgdx community (JVM game dev framework) already ported many non-trivial games to Robo

I hope there's plenty of other reasons to give gdx a few extra points, at least compared to Cocos2d-x. Being able to write your game for desktop, iOS and Android with Scala or better performance than Cocos2d-x for example. SCNR Glad to

That's indeed a good solution. Here's hoping that Github might adapt something like that in the near future. Manual repo maintainance is quite a burden, so making it harder to shoot yourself in the foot using the API would be much

That took my server down i'm afraid. Good day today. Here's a "cached" version. To all watchers of the libgdx repository: i’m terribly sorry and hope i didn’t interfer with your work in any way This is meant as a caution

Massive amount of edits on your end, not sure what i'm replying to. Glad the middlefinger was removed, i'm afraid i won't be availble for a SVN vs. Git war. We have our reasons to use SVN for the time being, externals being one of them (git

moat people put their logic updates in render, others have a separate thread. we don't want to force any architecure on anyone as libgdx is a framework, not an engine. this is getting way to off-topic. i suggest you register at our forums w

we have an external svn reference in core to table layout, something git doesn't support. your best bet is to check out libgdx from svn to et the externals. it definitely does build, otherwise jenkins would scream at me all the time :)

I already tried to get in contact with them, no reply. My optimistic assumption is they are overwhelmed with the response and need time. My pessimistic assumption is that they don't care for apparently small fish like libgdx. Thing is that
