Why make these temporary suspensions at all then? Surely the people who need the government to prohibit them from evicting people during a pandemic who are unable to pay rent because of that pandemic, don’t inspire the most faith.

That’s exactly where I’m at. Played games nearly constantly until the instant I got a full time job and could actually afford a nice computer. Now I just watch other people play games online because I can’t bother to keep up on the computer

Cars would also be much less useful in the USA without the insane amount of taxpayer-funded road infrastructure and lack of alternate public transportation options. Can you imagine if the people selling cars also had to pay for the infrastr

I commented something similar on the video, but I realized you would have to define the problem much more rigorously to get an analytical solution. The ball can hit a point from many angles, so doesn’t that mean there can’t be a perfect sol

I was wondering how you could get an analytical solution, but I think you’d have to define the problem much more rigorously to do so. As he mentions in the video, different basketball paths can contact the same point on the backboard from a

Are you using Amazon Prime Now for Whole Foods delivery? In SF I wasn't able to get a delivery window for several days (admittedly I wasn't checking more than a couple of times per day), but on night on a whim I decided to check r

My dad and I toured the USS Pampanito in San Francisco. We're both over 6 foot tall and it was quite cramped (even with very few people moving around). We wondered at the time if they had a height/size limitation for crew members.

We’ll see what happens when the companies say “okay, time to come back to the office” and a lot of their employees say “you know what, how about let’s not?” Maybe some companies will fire all those people or attempt to cut their pay. Maybe

I have a feeling that tech companies in the most expensive parts of the Bay Area are going to have trouble getting some people to come back to the office rather than move somewhere a bit cheaper and continue to work remotely.

I think the implicit benefit to doing it this way is that it will just work because there are likely few options and all combinations of those options will likely be tested and supported by the developers.

Yep, in fact, that’s exactly what those hex codes are: a specification for how much red, how much green, and how much blue is in the color (though our vision and color perception may not map linearly to that specification).

Having more than one name doesn’t change the story, and neither does some colors having no name at all. For each pair of adjacent colors which is indistinguishable to most people, and the two colors must either have the same name (the two s

No, rigorous investigation of possibilities indicated by priors is not conspiracy theory. It’s conspiracy theory when you claim that it’s true without any such investigation or evidence.

But the fact that a government sometimes tries to cover up things does not mean that every claim is true. “They’ve covered stuff up before” just is not sufficient evidence for anything, including, say, Bigfoot.

It’s a conspiracy theory if there isn’t any good evidence. The fact that labs have accidentally leaked pathogens before is not evidence that all future new pathogens are leaked from labs.

But again, "nation-state" is a widely used term with a widely accepted definition. That definitely is not "any region with any amount of group identity that also contains a government."
