I don't think so. It really depends on the leverage that the sole founder has. If he can bootstrap and has very high Return on Equity, he doesn't need capital. I think the point is really that there is very little reason not to gi

Solo founders are rare for a reason. If you just hire people to do a job, why would the most talented people work for you? Doesn't make much sense in most cases if the founder has not already a lot of capital. I would say increasing th

yes, they should be much lower. Essentially the reason is the lack of competition. MtGox charges so much, because they can. Simple. And big players are not entering the market. B24 charged 0.00% per trade (the exchange was taken down though

Interesting. This is actually close to the original idea of hypertext (Ted Nelson's vision: "documents - side by side"). I would really turn down the tone. Let the reader decide how important he thinks the idea is.

the Khan format doesn't work for everything and the spectrum is probably much too wide, but the appeal is exactly that it is one guy explaining writing. that way the students experience the thought process, which is what most teachers

Interestingly enough this notion, that there is only this one type of probability was debated before Kolmogorov by people like Ramsey and Keynes. Now the subjective interpretation of probability is called Bayesian statistics, which is not a

the very point of this is to lose some the old painful browsers (IE6/7/8) to make code much better. almost all work in cross-browser stuff is IE6-8. think of jQuery mainly as a bugfix for old IE's.

This is what I don't understand at all. Imagine somebody in a different area of computing would say: oh, we solved that 30 years ago and now there is no room for improvement at all? why can't this be done at least in C?

Nice proposal. I think the problem is numpy itself. If you could just do pip install numeric_package then nobody can complain. I don't quite understand why a package has to depend on LINPACK. I will probably switch to julia-lang, becau

I like the idea and might contribute to the source. I have the feeling the response to keystrokes is somewhat delayed? Type "asdf" for example and you will set it takes perhaps 1.5x more than it should and its not even.
