I’ve disabled calls on iOS and it failed like twice in two years. Once it was a doctor appointment, and I’ve now learned to use their system to do online calls instead. The second time it was some insurance claim, which forced them to give

Just disable all calls. That’s what I do. Real people call you on whatsapp or other similar apps.

I get spam calls and texts every day, interestingly now the spam even reached my whatsapp and telegram, although most of it is text and calls. The texts and calls are always from a different number. So what I did: I disabled calls entirely.

I tried using durable objects and the API is sooooo confusing I ended up just moving to a firebase’s firestore. I know they provide different features but I just needed a nosql type of storage so I didn’t care.

Whenever I have a question and used to pull up bard/chatGPT, and if I’m wearing my glasses. Kind of like having an expert next to you all the time.

I’m wearing the Rayban Meta right now and they are already mind blowing, I can already talk to that Meta AI assistant seamlessly. I bet one of the future iteration will have exactly this.

As a non-American the skyscrapers in NYC as well as the architecture in LV were mind blowing to me. I guess the US also has good nature. But Japan is a condensed WTF/sqm if you ever visit you will see that it’s truly a special country.

I'm pretty familiar with Golang's stdlib and other languages stdlib and I'm not sure what the other commenters are on.

It’s must nicer to read IMO than a generic-heavy language. Sure Golang is a bit more of a pain to write because of that but it’s a trade off.

Yes, like Python and Javascript right? Turns out you don’t need a great language when you provide what most people want: great tooling, good resources to ramp up, great stdlib, etc. Believe it or not Golang was the first language to do this

The way I describe it is that Golang is optimized for reading, other languages are often optimized for writing. If you have to deal with someone else’s codebase, then Golang is a godsend. I also like that you pointed out that every Golang c

I basically stopped using reddit when they came up with the new web UI, and then pushed me to download the app on mobile. They obviously don't care about users.

What do you define as edgy here? I would expect most of HN userbase to be atheist/agnostic. So religious topics would probably be considered edgy.

This whole simulation thing is fun, but that people genuinely believe that baffles me. I guess this is why religions exist.

Why are you assuming employees are incentivized by $$$ here, and why do you think the board's reason is related to safety or that employees don't care about safety? It just looks like you're spreading FUD at this point.

I just got the Rayban Meta glasses an hour ago, put them on, said "Hey Meta" and I was interacting with an AI with my voice, and hearing a response back. It's so unbelievable and surreal I don't understand why Siri/
