As much as I hate SF, there aren’t any real cities in the US besides SF and NYC. If you can afford to live in Europe or Asia then obviously what are you doing here

To me it’s more like if you have a non-rent controlled place you have to make it more attractive with lower prices, which is OK as you can just increase like hell after a year.

That’s the game. When I was looking for a place during covid I could have gotten some dope appartements for much cheaper than the rent controlled ones, hell they would even throw a free month sometimes lol. But I knew all of these would jac

Some people I know use it. I use it from times to times but the crypto community hasn’t really been active there. My guess is that if you have a big instagram following then Threads make a lot of sense.

I got the app but still can’t browse anything without an account. So I don’t use it :| this is user acquisition 101, if you’re behind a login page people won’t use your stuff.

I disagree. Coming from Europe the problem is that the US is filled with homeless people everywhere. It really is a crisis. Whereas in Europe you don’t really see them. It’s incomparable (and yet we still complain about homeless people in E

Are you sure these are facts? I think it’s just bad engineering IMO. Send people to jail doesn’t solve any root issues.

Putting people that need help in jail is the dumbest solution one can think of. You’re not solving ANYTHING. You’re just swiping what looks bad under the rug. The US prison system has already imploded.

Are you an engineer? If so you should try to think about how to make it work, not about one downside. It’s pretty clear that treating housing as an investment and not as a fundamental right has led us here. Unless you’re invested in real es

What’s a tabletop RPG? Are these D&D games? If so, which are the ones that don’t need a dungeon master. I’m not really attracted to those as I would think no one around me would want to sacrifice themselves to play that role.

I have one theory: Americans are much more social than French people and expect the French to be as receptive as them to small talk with strangers. But we don’t talk to strangers in France. We value our intimacy bubble and when someone talk

My personal take is that functional languages are fine if users don’t have to touch them, but will prevent a product from reaching critical adoption if users are facing them directly.

Java is verbose, C++ is verbose, Golang is not. Golang actually cared about verbosity. For example, uppercase letter means that your function is exposed, no keyword!

I would argue that code with channels are hard to read in any languages, not just Golang.
