I apologize for not directly answering your question--I don't have any knowledge or opinion about what to expect from big companies--but I want to say that I consider it a minor miracle that I didn't serve time for various ultimat

I welcome being put on a list, if it happens. I want to be part of this conflict. Something is happening now, and we need to keep pushing.

A page like this might be really useful, but it's very difficult for it to tell the whole story, and the story is always changing. In my experience, China's government uses many methods to sabotage the Internet, and the methods us

I very much prefer for emails to contain text only, or with HTML only as attachments, and it has absolutely zero to do with any desire to show off to other people. For me, it's all about keeping some control over technology. I tell a v

I'm American, and lived in China for two years. It's common to see things on the street that you don't understand, even for natives, and it's not prudent to take what you're seeing at face value. There are lots of s

I agree 100%. This is, I think, and underappreciated aspect of language study. Chinese people speak Mandarin with accents, so they're not irritated to hear my accent.

It's one of my shortcomings that I just cannot get into the mindset of an FBI agent who is happy about this. How do you keep wanting to go to work and investigating this kind of thing?

You seem to be assuming that the allegations are true. The understanding that most people have had is that DPR is a pure freedom fighter. If you take away those allegations, all that's left are fake "crimes" that aren't

If DPR actually paid to have someone killed, it would surprise everyone who knew anything about him. He's thought to be a libertarian and totally against the use of force.

The issue is, the SSH server is many tens of thousands of lines and extremely complex, while a port-knocking implementation might be a few hundred lines and very easy to audit. It's much easier to be certain that the simple one is bug

For now, we need to stop thinking and talking like this. This race is lost. The government is ready to record everything, but we are not ready to encrypt everything. It's not enough to protect yourself, even if you could. You are not O

You're right, but it's not that simple. HK people don't like to speak Mandarin, and don't like the mainland. It's normal in HK for there to be public demonstrations that would be unthinkable on the mainland.
