golang doesn't have annotations, doesn't have enums, error handling is very error prone. No ability to choose from different GC implementations, nothing remotely close to JFR.

I've seen similar abominations written in golang, but they're not public.

It's easily provable that the Quran has been preserved.

Very bad analogy. The Quran has been preserved word for word since its revelation. The Arabs went on to become one of the most advanced societies history has ever seen, read up on the Islamic Golden Age. Many things we take for granted trac

It's also prohibited in Islam. One of the most important things to understand is that why something is prohibited may not be immediately (or even ever) apparent to us, The Creator knows us better than we know ourselves.

In practice, it's used as an alternative to python and ruby and nodejs. It can't fully do what Java or C# do.

I urge you to look into Zakat to find that formula. It works and is actually fair.

What's fair is a constant rate across everyone regardless of income level (once a minimum threshold is reached) as Islam does in Zakat. Without getting into too many details, it requires 2.5% of the amount of money sitting in the bank

With records now being supported in Java, wouldn't Lombok be less needed?

You can do the same in Java now with sealed types: sealed interface Point {} record Cartesian(double x, double y) implements Point {} record Polar(double r, double theta) implements Point {}

When actual scientists speak out, they get downvoted by the delusional who refuse to accept reality. Thank you for speaking up, and keep at it please. We live in a clown world today that is hanging on to the last remaining strands of sanity

This is detracting from the point. Again, a child can tell you that a phone is not a washing machine, just like a child can tell you that a man is not a woman. Men and women have been the same as men and women from thousands of years ago. W

golang doesn't really compete with rust, but it's more like a faster python/ruby/js. You can see this by the companies that have moved over from those languages to golang. Hype definitely plays a role, but also the perce

Actually, I was thinking of covariant arrays. The compiler should prevent issues at compile time for generic collections, same as Haskell.

Could you provide examples of such? I'm not aware that the Java team mentioned any when positing the primitive specialization design.

Quite typical of golang pushing more complexity onto the user in order to save complexity in the compiler, then claim that golang is a "simple" language shrugs .

Most "complaints" about generics in Java have to do with type erasure. It's a tradeoff at the end of the day, it opened up the JVM to host many high quality languages like Scala, Kotlin, Clojure, etc. Haskell also does type e

We have an intrinsic sense of morality by means of what Islam calls "Fitrah" - the natural disposition which God instilled in us. This is why people are naturally inclined to believe in The Creator. This does not mean that the Fit
