Thank you for calling this out. I feel like there is a psyops campaign paid for by Google denouncing any organization/tech that doesn't blindly follow their non-standard standards.

They may be the worst, but they have now become extremely common to find in a variety of company projects. Not just FAANG or FAANG-adjacent but boring insurance or healthcare companies too.

After seeing examples in the article I think you (or likely the author) are confused. The examples they showed are people acting like jackasses in public trying to elicit and reaction (one example was someone screaming at an art museum then

Never really thought about it until you laid it out, and yeah it is troubling. At my company there have been meetings on how to be “innovative.” The suggestions are straight out of Dilbert. Someone said we needed more meetings and everyone

This feels like fear mongering to me. Current crime levels are no where near to what they were during heights of the 80s. It feels like cities are a victim of their own success. If you had prolonged periods of low crime, any sudden increase

Is there even a consensus that love languages are a valid concept? I ask because it's hard to see how falsifiable the idea is, reading about love languages seems highly "westernized" when love is a universal feeling not bound

Isn't the only thing required for Backstage a GitHub account? It's been a while but I remember GitLab not having the same feature parity and OSS alternatives like Gitea being completely left in the dust. Kinda disappointing if thi

This is a great reply and something I've noticed IME as well. I'm sure there is an economic term for it, but it's like perverse incentives coupled with unconsciousness. Echoing the other replies that we want to read more of y

I use to be a big fan of Spotify but they keep showing me similar songs that I just happened to listen to. My weekly lists contain synth, down tempo, and if I’m very lucky a pop song. I don’t mind these genres but looking at my personal col

Don't call yourself a react dev, it's unlikely this framework will be around in 10 years time (see what was popular in frontend dev 10 years ago). Call yourself a developer and try to learn the core tech, if you're a web deve

Highly disagree. I still replay No One Lives Forever (hilarious game) and the Max Payne 1 & 2 every few years. These games had great stories, game play, and characters; last time I replayed them was during the pandemic in 2020.
