Fair enough, but in my experience when you run into anything outside the happy path it will become an exercise in extreme torment. Maybe it’s the language I was using to debug an issue (typescript and having click/drag events override

I mean regulation isn't a bad thing, so I don't understand your comment. If anything big tech needs to not only be regulated more, they should be broken up.

I suppose but until this industry adopts something like an engineering license like PE I don't think it's out of the question to ask people to code. It's the highest signal you can get from a candidate. It doesn't matter

Myers-Briggs is pseudoscience. I would not base anything substantial off of it, you might as well use TeenVogue personality quizzes since they're just as effective (shorter too). I will say learning to interview is a skill like any oth

Asking someone to code, even simple problems, should be the absolute minimum standard. Why should it be unexpected to not code when applying to a software development job? I'm sure we all have stories about falling on our faces during

I mean IME with Pluralsight, I fully meant what I said. Most videos barely go beyond the documentation. I've paid for Lynda (now LinkedIn learning), Frontend Masters, Egghead, educative.io, Udacity, Laracasts, UI.dev, Safari, Ardan Lab

I took it more as Pluralsight courses are barely better than documentation, and from my experience of being a subscriber I definitely agree.

I’ve done a similar thing with the added benefit of also living in a walkable neighborhood (can walk to my doctors, theater, cafes, bars, gym, grocery store). I really wish these neighborhoods weren’t so expensive because they are very desi

Reminds me of the studies they’ve done on cognitive dissonance/lying. Basically if you believe lies you tell yourself, they tend to turn into truths in your mind over time. Even if you were doing it “ironically.”

That’s not a real issue tho. Like ever imo. Niche content will yield niche audiences. As long as you have thoughtful consistent interaction between at least two people that is what matters.

Removing rights should never be considered a “difference of opinion,” what a completely asinine response to a state government that has literally taken away bodily autonomy against Americans.

But we’ve all seen this play out several times across products in tech, they’re all popular until they aren’t. Netscape to Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer to Firefox, MySpace to Facebook. There tends to be lag but once a real alternati

I don't know if you're aware but the authors of both libraries (react router, remix) are the same two core developers. I do find their open source libraries a good juxtaposition of engineering philosophy for the tanstack ecosystem

Acting like SCOTUS isn’t partisan is very tiring. Also this is dismissing the massive influence that the Federalist Society/John Birch Society has had on the judiciary.

I think removing section 230 protections from these companies would be sufficient enough. You can’t have it both ways on being an editor of content (the algorithms) then claim you aren’t a publisher.
