I wrote a greasemonkey script for keeping track of read posts: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/6955-hacker-fresh Though, I don't even use it myself anymore, I just gave up caring if I've seen all the r

Money Edit: if I didn't need money to be able to continiue to live a comfortable life I'd quit my job (working for a cloud-based home IoT platform provider, which I hate at the moment) and do something more useful (at the moment,

I would also love to hear answers to this. I need a vacation. (Though I probably won't go until the pandemic is better taken care of...)

I'm asking this because I live in an urban area, but I still have to rely on a car, unless I want to pay >2x for my groceries at the one place that is with in walking distance. And I don't have enough of a death wish to bike to

Are you me? I spent the last 3 years completely redeveloping the foundation of our platform which will save the company millions of dollars a year. I didn't do it alone or anything. But I started the project, was the only one to work o

I don't disagree. But much like the sugary (or "sugary") treats I'd say it's one of the highest priorities.

CalyxOS has a handful of apps that exist in the image that you can optionally install. I would assume it's one of those. I run CalyxOS and don't and never did have WhatsApp installed.

Sure, but (not actually knowing how the integrated controller works) I don't see why the hardware one couldn't do that too, especially since it seems to only be build to support CDC (serial) and JTAG. Are you sure that the integra

Huh, I wonder why these have the same old CHG USB-Serial chip on them. The C3 has a built-in serial (and JTAG) USB interface. Maybe the software support isn't there yet?

Probably just a miscommunication, we definitely seem to have gotten completely out of hardware (I wouldn't really know, I was never really involved in any of the hardware side of things), but the software side of things is going strong

Write something that sounds fun. It doesn't even have to be useful to anyone, just interesting. And you have to be able to talk about it. The last person we hired for our team, I actively courted because he'd written a javascript

I mean power and price are a factor, but I haven't seen a hot-swap drive 1U system that that's not big and noisy. I guess part of the problem is that my rack is right next to my desk (noise) and can only support 24" of depth

Honestly as someone (on the team) hiring for a job where someone else wrote the job posting, ignore the number. Just read that as "do you think you enjoy maintaining a codebase written in X". Job postings are the fucking worst.

I've been "a rust dev" for 4 years, and I honestly can't see Rust not becoming a majorly used language. It's just so _nice_ to use. And I don't mean just "write" also mean "refactor" and &qu

I _desperately_ want something like this, but in a 1U 4-drive form factor. If someone is working on something like this, _please_ let me know. It doesn't even have to be an RK3399 based system, just something that works with a mainline

Clearly Rust can't solve all bugs, but I bet it would have prevented this one. GENERAL_NAME[1] is a struct containing a type tag "enum" and a union of the data (d) for each type. If I'm reading it right the bug here is r
