I use knockout.js too and I had a look at your code: although you seem to follow a lot of best practices, I noticed your code is not minified. Any reason why?

I have ported a programming game http://terrariumjs.wiselabs.net a while ago (javascript). You can write the AI of a herbivor or carnivor, and try to invade other people's terrariums :) The documentation is a bit lacking though.

People who can't afford to be paid $12/h don't apply for the job. Usually, I think Ukraine / Belarus / Romania web developers are ok with $12/h.

The miniproject is not the reason why I hired him. I was hiring a web developer to help me work on weekplan ultimately, the developer over the course of the year will cost me much more than 6h*3 worth of work.

The second candidate was offering $8/hour. They are competing with each other, this is the ugly side of this type of bidding marketplaces.

Not everything can be outsourced. Like someone said in the comments, it is harder to outsource a new project, much easier when you are set the conventions in place already. Also a lot of companies still need face to face. I am a freelancer
