I recently had a conversation with someone who works at Google, and she mentioned how in her opinion Google hires a lot of smart people but has a good chunk of them doing very lame work. So perhaps that's not too far fetched. I've

Is striking not an option for Toptal's employees? I imagine, especially at the size the company is operating, it'd probably be a very effective way for employees to make their voice heard and have negotiating leverage. Plus, this

Random. No joke, it's fair. I also doubt Google is auctioning this space for the sake of fairness. Their competitors are going to take a slice of their cake, and this is the most efficient (and legal) way to get as much of it back as p

This move excites me a lot. Tumblr isn't really about "brands" (in spite of what Oath would've wanted you to believe)— it's a lot of things, but at the end of the day, at it's core, it's a blogging platfor

In my experience Google Assistant has better voice recognition and seems to be faster. I've had it recognize things like titles for songs, which are easy to mix up.

Isn't this what philosophy in government and economics are? I took a Critical Theory course in college. We read Kant, Hagel, Marx, Marcuse and Adorno, and that's what their writing is all about— what all this we call "progres

I'm less worried about resource extraction, and more worried about pollution. Sure, mining pollutes and we have a limited number of minerals in the world. The bigger problem IMO is the destruction of the biosphere. Trees are being cut
