I wonder what a modern Spore would look like. Both the procedural aspects and the graphics could could be made much better with the processing power available today. The world of Spore after the water stage felt a little empty, I'm sur

Unfortunate that it is taking the invention of reusable rockets and a huge constellation of satellites to happen. And not just, you know, regulation.

I agree with the sentiment of the parent comment. Not because I have a huge passion for astronomy, but because I think we're prioritizing things in a wrong way. We're prioritizing yet another billionare's networking business

This honestly sounds more like an issue of social policy. The big ISPs make things like municipal broadband very hard to bring about. This leaves connectivity of these communities in the hands of an executive many miles away, and they will

But what about the 0.1%? The top 100, 10? Things grow exponentially fast as you reach the top. If you look at the Forbes 100, Jeff Bezos is worth about 2x number 5, 10x number 40. [1] The net worth of the top 1% is 10 million. That's 1

I agree with this, but it also means the hype is overdone, because these "no-code" tools that are gonna "revolutionize the industry" have been here for ages. For example in the web space, Microsoft took a stab at it with

+1. Another use of type systems that often falls under the radar is as documentation. Coming back or ramping up in a project that's typed is much more straightforward than one that isn't, for a few reasons: - Types are documentati

It's fun to see how some of these in general accurate, but others were very far off. For example: > Facebook will be gone in 5 years, just like MySpace. Half a dozen companies will rise and fall in replacing it. The web will churn e
