Nice! Her experience getting a "bionic ear" at age 80 was very interesting: https://www.math.columbia.edu/~jb/my-bionic-ear.pdf

Charging for perks and user self-expression seems a lot healthier than what we see in app stores and websites. This is all pre-IPO, it's sure to get worse; hopefully one of the Discord alternatives will have caught on by then. The big

I wouldn't need the site for these situations, just buy what looks good at Lowe's or Target and don't worry if the brand is worse than the 1980s. Wonder how much money "Worse on Purpose" has been offered so far.

OR the US administration could drag out the case hope it gets to the Supreme Court for another roll of the dice on weakening the Bill of Rights. As usual, government should have obtained a warrant if they wanted to search a US citizen.

An LLM taught me how to use the shell colon. Shell scripts are short enough that it's been worth my time to edit the AI's work.

I don't forsee politicians in either country handing over their power to AIs, ever. Unless nukes are dropped, "the other side" will catch up.

It's "Cost per task", so perhaps it burns tokens too quickly, trying to "do a better job". Over-engineering :) Last week it felt like Opus 4.8 was moving the Pro "usage" meter very quickly. Today, pre-an

I think you're right, quotas have been around as long as multi-user systems. Their argument was economic, an economic solution would be good: "It seems like many ‘vibe coders’ don't realize that they don't actually have

Novices apprenticed to humans, instead of AIs; if they could find one. Flight dynamics guys might be too busy for a 17-year old apprentice from Brazil.

When I'm starting from mostly ignorance, being an apprentice is better than trying , making little progress, and giving up. The problem will be if we never transition from being an apprentice, to independence.
