If you feel that way (not saying you shouldn't), why don't you just stop using Reddit?

Why is cold a commodity? Isn't the vast vast majority of the universe extremely cold?

We are manipulating human attention and emotion in an unprecendented way. Algorthmic content/advertising is having a profound effect on human behavior that I dont think will be understood for 50+ years.

The western world gets cheap food because it exploits the labor and resources of the less fourtunate. Real estate investment is a direct example of wealth concentration. The less wealthy pay a richer individuals rent plus a little profit on

I'm not sure where you're from, but in the US, literacy rates are definitely not near 100%. In the report below 8.2% we're functionally illiterate and unable to participate in the survey. https://nces.ed.gov/p

Then how do you explain common transhumanist ideas like nootropics and biohacking? I think the line you've drawn is a bit arbitrary.

I appreciate the thought, but there's no way a request to remove the Bible would have any impact. The request would be discarded immediately.

Right. But being able to live as your authentic self is a good thing, unlike your examples. Opposing good modifications is anti-transhumanist.

Maybe this is apocryphal, but I think I remember hearing that Reddit was originally written in some kind of lisp. Not to say it doesn't owe its success to python.

I think Tariq Fancy does a good job of breaking down why ESG and sustainable investing as a whole is bunk: https://medium.com/@sosofancy/the-secret-diary-of-a-sustaina... He also summarizes his thoughts on Doug Henwood

Quote from the article: > When I’m able I’d much rather spend the time to educate someone about diversity and inclusion issues and see if I can change how they see the world a bit. But I don’t always have the time and energy to do that.

From the essay: > “We don’t do that here” should be a statement of fact and nothing more. It clearly and concisely sets a boundary, and also makes it easy to disengage with any possible rebuttals. Of course it cuts both ways. Any method

Such naked contempt for working people. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard. Ideally, no one group is in charge of everything. But given a choice, I would pick bus drivers over billionaires.

"Democracy for me, but not for thee." Not a good look whether you call it fascism, oligarchy, or technocracy. The "educated elite" do not understand or advocate for the interests of the working class.
