Not going to really argue here, but I have to use mlocate every single time I want to find a unit file, because there's no telling where it would be. Perhaps blame lays on the distro packager, but still, it ends up to a user being stra

Same. I pretty much scan it, anything interesting I open(which isn't a ton). Then, about once every few months, I get tired of seeing 20k unread emails, so delete all unread emails older than x. Perhaps I'm not a power user, or

Quite the contrary. Why would Intel want x86 on ARM? That would make migration even easier.

I see your point, but companies have been offshoring since I've been working at least, probably longer. Seems to go in waves for some reason.

> Then your data is worthless to them This is precisely the point. It should be worse than worthless, it should cost them money. And they should charge that to me, plus some nominal fee. I guess that's what I'm asking for.

Same excitement here. I'd love to see anyone(Brave or others) chip away at my Google dependencies, even if they charge me for them. I already love Brave as a browser, so here's hoping search pans out. I don't mind a company

So...gross question. Let's just say I expected a drinking water fountain type thing, and got what felt like an enraged eel trying to find warmth inside me. Is that uh...typical? I've never tried one since.

Ah, squatting toilets...reminds me of my first time in Japan. Was waiting to land so I could uh, unload. Finally deplaned, and hurried to the restroom. Saw what looked like a urinal buried sideways into the floor. As a tall person with

I find the whole balance rather interesting. The worker thinks 'without my work, the owner would have nothing!' The owner thinks 'without my business, the worker would have nothing.' The truth is, both are right, to diff

A very large, well known company used to be the ultimate place to work. Part time, decent wages, college paid, health insurance, and housing assistance. As you can imagine, over the years, wages didn't rise, and benefits started disap

This isn't clearly a R vs D issue, perhaps localized. TN has a surprising amount of gigabit muni broadband in very, very red areas. Though another R has done her damnedest to stop that.

I don't. I just mentioned them because they are very common labor intensive summer jobs where I grew up. Replace with whatever your local variant would be.

Perhaps, but I think we can drill down a bit further. Many third world countries have foods much, much more processed than we do in USA, yet they don't exhibit such effects generally. My own family is a huge old Irish/German congl

I'm far from a scientist, but in my observations and reading, lifestyle has a far bigger impact than diet. Hard work boosts testosterone, there was even a study done showing how much it was boosted during chopping wood, for example.

I'm in full agreement, iff it's standardized across the board. But it's very much not. As much as I hate the namesake, Coulter's Law is silly yet sadly mostly correct.

yeah I remember the CKY guys had similar premise. But they were more 'dark' or extreme or something. Definitely not as entertaining as Jackass, and never really got as popular either, probably for that reason.

I only rent from individuals who own the home. People should never give money to the likes of BlackRock or Invitation Homes, who are helping destroy the housing market. Rant aside, there's certainly nothing wrong with owning. I plan

There was no massive deflation in 2020. Prices started rising because of 'covid shutdowns', and house prices started upping due to lack of inventory.

I feel like all these numbers are bogus. Housing? Seeing as it's nearly half of people's spending, I feel it should be weighted appropriately. And if so, real prices would be closer to 20% inflated in most markets YOY.

No offense, but this is a typical thought, and one that shows that you've no idea the hundreds of corner cases that trap you. There's a reason 'its always DNS' is a meme. A simple example. Someone makes a new domain nam

Point 1 specifically says to write things down every time someone asks you a question. Taking DNS as an example, 1034 1035/4034 4035, among some others, I don't see how that's helpful even if I make a linking FAQ. My notes
