Yeah... reminds me of a past coworker. He spent weeks writing weird comments in code, then writing weird code to read comments. From the actual source files. Then when deployments didn't work, he said they worked on his machine the

I'm not sure I agree with this chart, but I guess everyone is different. To me, a red delicious is not tart at all. It's...tasteless. I also find 'good' cripps/pink ladies far more tart than any apple listed. I b

Good point. I think looks have to follow. Golden Delicious always look...dull. Red Delicious look absolutely stunning. I guess I'd lump that in with 'marketing.'

I have. I don't know why, I just don't like them as much as I thought I would. However, I find cripp's pink to be wildly variable. Some are beautifully crisp and very tart, these are my favorite. One store by me sells them

IIRC, most apples aren't genetically modified as we use the term today, just 'hybridized'/crossbred or whatever the word is. I think they're also all sterile.

True, but it also sucks because so many people say 'i dont like apples', including me until my mid 20s. Red Delicious are awful in every metric. Once a friend opened my eyes to pink ladies and honeycrisps, I was blown away and f

I'm not trying to be too negative on it, but it's because there's zero liability. I luckily had a father teach me a ton about home improvement. Half the videos they host should be seen as negligent at best, criminal at wors

I've also noticed cops not patrolling anymore. I drove about 600 miles this spring and saw things that should put people in prison. Even now, I don't pay attention to speed limits because nobody is enforcing them, at all. I don&#

Yeah, I started in Sysadmin and really loved it. More than programming for sure. Unfortunately everyone moved to cloud, turning most sysadmins in to glorified AWS button pushers. Moved into programming, but still would switch back in a h

Any tips for starting in embedded? I don't necessarily want to switch paths, just tinker with something at home. But something realistic that a modern embedded engineer would work on, not say making a light blink with an Arduino.

It really depends on what you cook, and when you clean it. If you can stay on top of it, you can usually just wipe it down with oil cloth while it's hot, and presto, like new. If you run it too hot and dry and start burning something,

The inside bottom I should say is well seasoned. The sides, handle, and outside...not so much. In my experience even the inside bottom will at times rust in places. Likely where the seasoning broke or was tore through in scraping.

Same. The only rule I have for mine is "oil it when you're done." I'm a guy who just never washed it. Scrape it, heat it with oil, rub it down...and done. My wife insists on washing it normally. Though well seasoned

For some reason phones and powerbanks use mAh. Power tools all use Ah (1.5Ah, 4.0Ah, etc). Unsure why, but I always found that interesting.

That really depends on where you live. Nuclear isn't so bad. And my power company is building giant seas of solar farms, constantly getting bigger. What would be the point of me replacing that with my own?

Thanks for your experience. I think the age is closer to 13 than 30. You can learn and speak 'well enough' at many ages, but past a certain age you will always sound different, and it's much younger than 30 for the majority

Thanks for sharing. The worst for me personally is 'ng'. My wife has tried a hundred times to teach me. To me it just sounds like a nasally 'n'. I tried that and get laughed at. She tries our short 'i' and

I appreciate the effort, but I don't like this attitude of blaming the speaker. My company once even had a video saying that mispronouncing a name was a 'microaggression.' That insanity aside, there are sounds and consonant

I see you've never met the typical HOA. Let me explain... One person who usually isn't even the 'president' but still sycophantic about it creates a private group, which only he or she can delete things or add people.

Technically perhaps correct, but my HOA pays for garbage so it's more neighborhood level. I have zero interest in interacting with them much less suing them. I just wish they'd spend 10 dollars to setup some simple website, but
