In the context of my comment, better jobs. Doctors, lawyers, and proper engineers and such. Basically, the kids who worked harder excelled in college and stuck with it.

I'm not 'old', but I'm not young anymore either, though I still remember it. My biggest personal gripe is my brain slowly slipping. It's just not as fast as it used to be, and my memory not anywhere as good. I wa

Same. In my experience, the relatively smart people in school who worked hard had more successful lives than the even smarter kids who didn't.

Good to know, thanks. Usually I'm interested in either casting a browser window, or even the whole screen usually, which I've been coming up short on.

Thanks for this, I can't wait to test it out. Are there other ways to control chromecasts from Linux? I used to be able to cast straight from Chromium, but that hasn't worked for me in at least a couple years.

Absolutely. But if you make that decision, why waste more time commenting on it? I don't mean this to be negative, just food for thought.

Not sure why you are downvoted, this is correct. What the R's did to Merrick Garland was a disgrace. What kind of wink and a nod agreement is that? They should codify this into law, not keep perpetuating it forever. How long until

Same, but different reasons. I just like seeing 'No Bullshit' on their site, since that's basically what I'm thinking when looking for such services.

LOL. My wife said "you look like the dad from the Croods." It definitely seems to over caveman a bit, but I liked it!

I can relate, somewhat. One particular training video we were required to watch, not on diversity but microagressions, left me with the takeaway "say nothing to anyone, ever."

Where would you draw the line between Guild and contractors? I once worked with an extremely talented closeknit small contract company in Canada. When offered jobs at my company, they basically laughed and said they are well compensated.

AFAIK, most new construction houses for the past decade or so have some amount of air intake, because houses are built too 'tight' now, but this might be somewhat location dependent.

I remember this as well. My opinion is that both sides were in the wrong. I think it's a case where the creator is overambitious, and set unrealistic timelines that obviously weren't met. In response, many called him a scammer&

If you only look at today's numbers, it doesn't make a ton of sense. But looking at the market, the world is moving -more- towards ARM, not away. The last couple years have given us ARM in a gaming console, ARM in mainstream lap

I agree, but my argument here is that it's up to the producer. They obviously wanted it to be a digital paper, for some reason, and not a data mining source. We should blame the producers, not the format. It's equivalent to say

A lot of people here seem to knock PDF, but I love it. Anyone who has tried to use OpenOffice full time probably does too. We have 'descriptive text' in MS various formats, or even html/css. The problem is every implemente

That's so...odd. When I think Oracle, I think old suits selling boring old tech. Not 12 year olds twerking and/or pretending to be killed at Auschwitz(yes, a real trend).

Perhaps not. I mean AMD and soon Intel basically compete with themselves by pushing advances in both discrete GPU and APU at the same time, one negating the need for the other. I'm not claiming I'm right and you're wrong, of

This seems fair, as long as it stays true(regarding open licensing and neutrality). I've mentioned before, I think this will ultimately be a good thing. NVidia has the gpu chops to really amp up the reference implementation, which is

I dunno, Openssl CLI is one hairy beast. To be honest I don't really know the best solution to such problems. Smaller, more specialized binaries? I mean, s_client is so vastly different than say, rsa.

I don't buy the poll, at all. When I move SSH off port 22, I don't get 50 percent traffic. I get 0 percent. It's the first thing I do to harden any server.

Comparisons are a little unfair, because traditional cars are like department stores: nobody pays MSRP. Tesla, however, everyone pays MSRP. That's not a knock against them, it just muddies the comparison a bit. I bought a brand new

All because of an ICANN money grab. If it were really about 'having choice', applications wouldn't have cost so much.

I can answer this question from my own perspective, at least. CPUs with integrated graphics are not as fast as standalone historically. Compare say, a ryzen 3600 to a 3400G. Passmark below: 3400G: 9425 3600: 17850 for fun 1600: 12444

Linux support exists, but is a royal pain. With my 5500XT, even on Arch linux it wasn't properly supported unless I compiled a few things from Git. I applaud the open source effort, but let's not pretend it's all sunshine an
