Depending on the wavelength I guess there exist lightweight mesh fabrics that are pretty efficient at blocking waves. Wonder if that would work for this application.

I don't know, I saw this same argument in the gun community. Stop calling them accidental discharges, call them negligent discharges. Both they and you make good points as to why. But, then what does the meaning of accident become?

Same for me! I don't know if I just got grumpier as I got older, or the smartphone era happened to occur in the same time, but I literally dread going to a theater. Instead of focusing on the movie, I just realize how self entitled s

Yeah, that Lecun argument was a really bad first impression of her from me. I guess she found out life isn't Twitter and you can't just go around telling everyone they are bad and wrong without consequences.

Don't forget to add stealing code to the list. Dude swiped some of our open source code and just replaced our name with his own in the copyright. Class act, that guy.

I can't be bothered to grab numbers, but in the US, and perhaps elsewhere, I'd wager that the number of people a) over 55, or b) obese, or c) otherwise high risk make up more than half the population, or very much near it.

Because it's virtue signaling all the way down. Not to be hateful, but if you look how the groups align it makes little sense. Those who most seek to protect those ignorant people call terrorists, or illegals who need to be sent back

Hard disagree. Not doing a thing is by no means a political statement (your BLM example). Now if they put up an All Lives Matter flag, then you have an argument. Further, I'd argue selling a service or product with no judgement of th

That's interesting, and after investigating it seems this is true. I'm sure my recollection is correct, which means the recruiter with whom I spoke was perhaps misleading me, whether purposely or not.

Agreed. What FB did here is really scummy, they are clearly violating your license, so stick it to them on that issue. By bringing up unrelated issues one muddies the original intent.

Sigh, I never made a claim as to why the south left. Slavery is not the reason for the war, secession is. You can easily make the case that slavery was the reason for secession, which isn't wrong, but a moot point. If states had sec

Exactly. Many of the people who make civil war/anti south jokes are the same people who want California to secede, which makes no sense. In its simplest form, the civil war wasn't fought because the north thought slavery was bad.
