This is under a thread of using "guys", which is what i'm specifically referring to, nothing else. Its common use, and dictionary definition even, is a nonderogatory nongendered word. So I personally feel taking it as gende

When I was a kid, I couldn't pronounce R's and used to be teased endlessly. Should I demand words with r be banished because they made me uncomfortable? I didn't even know that was an option. I'm not sure this is the h

This feels pretty extreme. I was raised in the Midwest where everyone calls everyone 'guys.' Even if I could successfully stop saying it...why? It's very obviously meant with no ill intention.

Unequivocally, NO. Please don't tell me I'm doing it wrong. The cons are it's a huge waste of my time. I much prefer a system where someone just tells me what they want/expect, and leaves me alone while I do it. I have

Thanks. Also noting that upx has the same behavior. I didn't inspect the binaries, just try to see how/if they compress.

This "attack" is against the ordinary user, so yeah is before or at the time of the dns query. I'd expect(probably incorrectly) for the server side stuff like recursive resolvers to have ECC. So imagine you are sending a mai

One rather insidious one I'd never considered prior was that lowercase n is one bit from '.'. So you can also bitsquat on things like, say, wwwngoogle.com or mailngoogle.com. A researcher brought this to my attention years a

Eh, it's a little murky. I was playing with dart a little. It can in fact create a single binary, but it looks like it's just putting the interpreter with the code. I say that because if you strip or pack the binary, instead of

Eh, that's terrible UX for everyone involved. I'm more or less OK with the idea of Apple not developing for other platforms. However, they are actively hostile to anyone who has offered and tried to get interop working on other p

Yeah, I retract my statement. It was my error there, and I apologize. Not going into too much detail, but was following a lot of the drama going on for the past two years and found it odd there wasn't a release in all that time. That

FWIW, I've been in the game a long time. I understand what rolling release means. In this case it means, sorry if you bought anything in the last 2 years. And really sorry if you care about security.

Why is this number 1? Void lost their founder in weird circumstances, and haven't had a release in 2 years. Not knocking the distro, just not understanding the attention.

AFAIK it's not illegal to run your grill indoors, either. Being legal isn't the same as being a good idea. Ventless fireplaces are also not legal in a lot of places in the US, for good reason.
