Funny you should ask - I actually wrote a short book about it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M09FA5X . I own two small apartment buildings in the Bay Area (seven apartments total). I honestly just saw interest rates were

I had a ten year career mostly in product management at enterprise software startups, and I left last year to open a dog boarding business (which is a whole mess right now, but that's another story). For the most part I liked the compa

Things are definitely looking bad, but given how optimistic the market has seemed over the past months even with lots of bad news coming out, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a pretty sharp recovery once Covid-19 is contained.

Sure, but if this were a case where they offered just a generic form email with no real explanation, why wouldn't OP put it in the post? That would support the cause that this is Quora acting badly. Instead, there's just the vague

This is kind of a baffling response to me... how many parents are involved enough to download an app or pay for problems with their kids? Really? People download apps for everything, but you think they'd be too lazy to do it for their

Feels like there's a whole other side being left out - there's no correspondence with Quora posted, just "Long story short: they accused me of foul play and told me that they weren’t going to pay out my earnings. When I inqui

This is the thing that works best for me, though I define a smaller task as much smaller than that... ideally something that takes <15 min and doesn't necessarily require a lot of brainpower. I'm in the midst of starting a busi

I'd look at it the other way - when you have hundreds of millions of dollars, the utility of a million dollars is basically nothing, so almost certainly the utility of your children attending college where you want is higher.

I don't know if I would say I'm a narcissist, but I have realized that I'm very prone to interrupting people mid-conversation, because it's just what my family does. When I'm with them (or other interrupters), it&#x

I definitely think this is a useful perspective, but if you're creating something, it can be nice to turn your hobby into a hustle in order to increase the amount that you can create. If you're getting into glass blowing, you can

Any change to this rule is welcome in my book. What really gets me is the people who fly with dogs that are obviously terrified. Putting an animal that isn't trained to handle airports and planes in that situation so you don't hav

The last two books I read were Station 11 and Severance, and they make it tough not to be at least a little paranoid about this. Great books, though.

The problem with this is that when you do it, you're actively looking for lookalike domains. The challenge is when an email or link otherwise seems very legitimate, so you have your guard down.

I remember when CH was just a site where people uploaded funny pics, and once in a while they had a well-written article. How far they came - sad to see them shut down.

Sounds like the original comment was referring to RSUs in public companies. If you sell those immediately upon receiving them, they're basically equivalent to cash.

This is not true in most contracts - you can negotiate for it if you're high enough level or early enough, but otherwise it's rarely the case. Besides, if you get fired from a startup and it's not for cause, then it's pr

Listen to this person. The people telling you to talk to your employer are giving you terrible advice. You can still do that after spending 30 minutes with a lawyer, but you can't take back anything you say before you talk to a lawyer.
